Look into the Cracks
Shattered objects are full of past use traces, which makes objects unique. In this project, I will break the boundary of time in the form of jewelry, lead people back to childhood, symbolize memories and visualize emotions.
It is the desire of human beings to travel through time, but so far, people have not found a way to go back to the past physically. But on a spiritual way, we can travel through time by using memory. Recalling past experiences is done through memorization, in other words it's the process by which we project our own experiences into the past. This process allows us to subjectively relive our own or even other people's past by locating ourselves to a time and place we have experienced before.
Memories are recorded layer by layer into the box. When I turn on the light, what I see is two mirrors reflecting broken ceramic toys infinitely. I do not feel upset when I see the cracks of a broken toy. Although I cannot restore them to their original looks, the imperfect toys become the most special. Childhood memories are always there, even if forgotten or broken; they are still being with me forever.
